Humane Society International/India, for more than a decade, has strived to create a healthy human-dog relationship through Animal Birth Control (ABC) projects, veterinary training, dog census, and community awareness and education. Spread across Uttarakhand, Lucknow, Vadodara and Hyderabad, our interventions have positively impacted more than 55,000 dogs since 2022. In the lasst 2 years, we have conducted 250 community workshops and touched 12,000 humans through outreach, complaints redresssal, and messaging about the well-being of street dogs. This is a systemic intervention to bettering the lives of and bringing a shift in people’s perceptions about Indian street dogs.
